Noticing

Celine & Berni – UKCP Registered (Advanced Trainee) Relational Gestalt Psychotherapists

Celine and Berni, are members of our COYC collective, and bring their expertise in Relational Gestalt Psychotherapy to COYC,  facilitating a four-session journey designed to foster group growth and connection. Their approach is horizontal, meaning we all actively participate in the exercises alongside the group, creating a shared experience of exploration and discovery.

Each session was structured within collaboratively developed group protocols, ensuring a safe and supportive environment. Sessions begin and ended with grounding exercises and a check-in to reflect on how we are all doing.

A Multi-Layered Approach

Throughout the sessions, participants engaged with topics from multiple perspectives:

  • Personal: What is happening for me?

  • Interpersonal: How am I experiencing my COYC colleagues?

  • Collective: How do our experiences connect to broader communities and the world?

  • Creative Expression: A therapeutic poetry writing space to capture our reflections.

Session Topics

  1. Noticing – Developing awareness of self and others.

  2. Listening – Deepening our capacity for presence and understanding.

  3. Judgements & Polarities – Exploring perspectives and holding complexity.

  4. Expectations & Endings – Navigating transitions and closure.

This unique process invited participants to cultivate deeper self-awareness, strengthen relationships, and expand their understanding of community dynamics—all within a co-created, therapeutic space.

"This workshop for me was so helpful to think about and know about self in a different way. I loved the ‘Noticing’ element of the workshop. I learnt about me on a deeper level, and I loved the way it was delivered. It brought the quietness out of me. It gave me a chance to speak and to be heard.”    Theresa Taylor "
