What stories do we carry with us when we move across borders — seen or unseen? Travel Light invites you into a soul-stirring sound world where music, poetry, and lived experience meet. At its core, Travel Light is a bold, genre-crossing production that explores the emotional landscapes of migration and identity.

Drawing on the rich traditions of African, South Asian, and Western musical forms, this immersive performance captures the tension between what we leave behind and what we carry forward on the path to belonging. The work is led by renowned composer and creative director Christella Litras, Michelle Scally Clarke, commissioned poet and narrator., with original compositions co-created by Deepa Shakthi and Thandanani Gumede — three visionary artists whose personal and artistic journeys deeply inform the work.
