In partnership with the University of Leeds, the National Poetry Centre is working with acclaimed Dutch artist Gijs Van Bon to bring his STRINGED artwork to the city. The artwork consists of words, created by waves of animated light dots, which are seemingly suspended and scattered in mid-air. Weaving around the future National Poetry Centre’s striking Gothic architecture they flow into sentences of text, to tell a story that passes out of sight as soon as it arrives.

Poets Michelle Scally Clarke and Sharena Lee Satti have supported young people from Ralph Thoresby School, the Speak Your Truth Collective, and the University of Leeds, to create collaborative poems sharing their thoughts on nature, climate change and the power of their voices.
